The forthcoming Realty exhibition at Tour & Taxis, Brussels, May 16-18 will see a number of innovations. Firstly, organisers Artexis have joined forces with Archi-Europe, an architecture platform today numbering over 185,000 architects.The partnership will see the launch, at Realty this year of the first ‘European Architecture Awards’.The new Awards will recognise and reward outstanding international projects in domains including urban development, housing, industrial, commercial and office buildings, healthcare facilities… A second initiative will see an innovation corner at this year’s show.This will be a dedicated space where young entrepreneurs and technology companies have the opportunity to present their solutions easily. ....

Development agency citydev.brussels has announced that it has confirmed its partnership with Brussels Environment. The stated aim is to increase the synergies between urban planning policies and the development of green areas within the Region.

Focus on inner-city urban development
 
This year at Realty, UPSI /BVS - the professional association for real estate developers - is organizing a conference about inner-city urban development with, as showcase, Europe’s largest urban reconversion project, HafenCity in Hamburg.

UPSI has attracted some high ranking speakers; these include Jürgen Bruns-Berentelg, CEO of HafenCity and Rajdeep Gahir, founder of ‘Redefining Real Estate’. Also taking part, in the panel discussion, are Brussels Bouwmeester Kristiaan Borret and Flemish Government architect Leo Van Broeck.
