Horizontal City goes on display at Bozar

At Bozar, developer Atenor is demonstrating its slogan ‘Acting for Cities’. It is the main sponsor of an exhibition entitled ‘Horizontal Metropolis: a Radical Project, curated by planner Paola Vigano.

This concept looks at the fact of having a scattered population covering a wider area than just the city itself, as an asset. The exhibition forms part of the Brussels 2040 refection, but also includes other cities around the world. It has already been on display in Lausanne and Venice before coming to Brussels. Three Belgian cases of this thinking are studied – West Gardens in Brussels, the Val de Sambre area in Wallonia and Gent-Destelbergen in Flanders. There are five rooms dedicated to the concept at Bozar, with models and videos, and there will be a summer school for students.
