Mipim Awards for Antwerp and Brussels

As has become traditional over the past decade or so, Belgium was once again on the podium at the prestigious Mipim Awards this year. Of the four Belgian projects which had made it to the finals in their respective categories, two were crowned winners. Firstly, the spectacular Antwerp Port House, by Zaha Hadid Architects, was elected ‘Best Refurbished Building’.

Joining it on the podium was the Ilot Sacré (photo) in the very heart of historic Brussels, by DDS+ architects’, voted ‘Best Residential Development’ for having created a housing project in keeping with its surroundings, and in a very restricted space.
