Major purchase in Haasrode

A substantial purchase transaction has taken place in Haasrode, not far from Leuven. The ‘Leuven Catholic High School’ (KHL) has acquired the office complex previously owned by telecoms company Belgacom. The complex comprises some 30,000 m² of modern buildings on a 4.5 hectare site. It is very close to the E40 and to the existing KHL campus at Hertogstraat. Commenting, Jonathan Van Dyck, Associate Director of JLL, who were mandated by Belgacom to dispose of this asset, said: “This complex offers KHL exceptional possibilities for growth. It was very quickly clear to everybody that this potential buyer was perfect for this site”.

At the beginning of next year, the KHL will install its administrative functions on the site, and will develop a new student campus to be known – as a reference to the previous owners – as the ‘Proximus Campus’. For its part, Belgacom has integrated its services into its Evere (Brussels) headquarters, some 25 km to the west. The remaining staff members will remove to there around mid-October.
