Call for proposals for NATO redevelopment

The Brussels Territorial Development Agency (ADT) has issued a call for tenders for the redevelopment of the current – soon to be vacated – NATO headquarters at Evere. The mission is to study possible programmes for the site, which is part of a larger area owned by Citydev and the Belgian National defence department.
Organizations and associations wishing to put themselves forward will have to show how the planning and urban development of this site would proceed, and how it would look from a landscaping point of view. They will also need to present an economically sound budget. Such bodies will additionally need to demonstrate that they have the necessary experience in planning in military and airport zones, and zones with high security requirements. The zone involved, out of a total of 90 hectares, is limited to the 40 hectares which lie inside the boundaries of the Brussels Capital Region. The other part of the zone is located in Haren.
