Court Village - mixed use project in Court-St.-Etienne
A new mixed use development is to be constructed by developers Equilis in Court-St.- Etienne, close to Louvain-la-Neuve and Ottignies in Brabant Wallon, from both of which it is around ten minutes by car. Named ‘Court Village, this major development will see the construction of around 350-400 residential units and over 8,000 m² of retail units, available from 150m² to 2,000 m². The development is taking place on the former ‘Henricot’ site of 10 hectares, a disused eyesore for a number of years. Architecture is by ABR of Genappe and Altiplan of Brussels.

The developers’ objective is to create a ‘village’ atmosphere (hence the name) and to build a genuine eco-district. To qualify as an eco-district, projects now have to meet at least 21 of the 25 criteria laid down by Walloon minister Philippe Henry in 2013. These include aspects allied to the construction itself, of course, but also to green areas, mobility… The apartments will range from 60 to 130 m², and be from one to three bedrooms. The construction is set to be in three phases, with the first apartments available in 2016.
