Lunch with an architect
Polo Architects to present at Lunch with an Architect
The next edition of ‘Lunch with an Architect’ ,organized by Forum Press & Communications, will take place at the Flagey studios in Brussels on September 14th. The presentation this time will be by Polo Architects, founded by Mauro Poponcini & Patrick Lootens and employing around a hundred persons in their offices in Antwerp and Brussels. The philosophy of the bureau is to combine urbanism, architecture and town planning.
Among major realizations, this bureau is responsible for the AP Hogeschool Antwerp and the Campus Diagonal-Besos in Barcelona. The ‘Red Cross Care Hotel’ (Zueinkerke, Flanders), designed to provide a place for people who, through sickness, old age or other reasons cannot go on holiday, has been nominated for the Mipim Awards 2020, the results of which will be announced during the Real Estate Week in Paris on 15th September.
‘Lunch with an Architect’ takes place on three or four occasions a year, and always attracts a large audience of real estate professionals. It invites an internationally successful architect to set out his or her philosophy, illustrated by examples of the work. As such, architectural philosophies which are outside of the mainstream are often presented. The title of the conferences comes from the fact that the presentation is at 12.30 pm and followed by a buffet lunch at which the presenting architect is always present to talk to the participants.
